Misspressed plays Hellanbach's All System Go as track 2
Birmingham, a city built on a legacy of metalworking in noisyfactories filled with grinding, thumping machinery provided aperfect template for a new type of raucous rock. So its onlyfitting that this should be the birthplace of heavy metal. BlackSabbath, Judas Priest, Napalm Death and Godflesh were formed inBirmingham, and Led Zeppelin´s Robert Plant was born in WestBromwich. Diamond Head come from nearby Stourbridge and Bev Bevan,a member of Birmingham bands The Move and ELO, was born inSparkhill, Birmingham, and went on to become the tour drummer forBlack Sabbath. Glenn Hughes - who has worked with Deep Purple,Black Sabbath and Black Country Communion - is from Cannock. JethroTull, Blaze Bayley, ELO, The Moody Blues and the list goes on andon. Another band hailing from that area was Steel, which actuallywas one of the btter outfits on the Neats roster. Formed in 1980the band were quickly picked up by Neat who released the debutsingle Rock Out. This 1981 single was well received and rapidlybecame a remarkable good seller for the label. The A side track,Rock Out, shows the bands melodic side while the B-side All SystemsGo is a full-fledged rocker in the best NWOBHM tradition. The bandlanded a support slot to Iron Maiden and the future lookedpromising. The band started to fell apart in 1982 and when frontmanPaul Tunnecliffe left they band really started to struggle. In cameMamas Boys vocalist Rick Chase and the band started demoingmaterial but things didnt work out and after playing a final gigsupporting Magnum in 1984 the band called it a day. Leaving thissingle as their only legacy. Rock Out/All Systems Go is a greatexample of the quality of the NWOBHM genre.
