Heimerle + Meule is the oldest German gold and silver smelter that has been operating continuously since its foundation in 1845. The smelter was founded in the German city of Pforzheim, which is aptly nicknamed the "Golden City" because of the developed industry of precious metals and jewelry. The smelter got its current name in the second half of the 19th century, and after World War II, the smelter was taken over by the Lübeck Possehl Group. In 2013, the Heimerle + Meule Group was formed, which unites several global smelters and employs more than 950 people in seven countries.
