Whispering Band isone of Swedens longest running jazz bands. They were formed inÖrebro in 1933, the same year that Adolf Hitler banned jazz musicin Germany. The orchestra immediately became the audience’sfavorite orchestra at Örebro’s former venues Blå Skeppet andSportpalatset. Even the people from Karlskoga came to Örebro todance to Whispering. The band recorded an EP in 1938 and anotherone in the fall of 1955 between those years the band experiencedsome of their best years as this period was the golden times forbig band music. The record production started properly in 1974 whenthey released their first full length album, In The Mood, which wasfollowed by Take The Train in 1978, both on Habima Records. Theband has performed with lots of music stars such as Lill-Babs,Svante Thuresson, Hayati Kafe, Anki Hedmark, Per Fritzell and KnutAngred from Galenskaparna, Eva Eastwood, Linda Bengtzing, Gladysdel Pilar to name some of them. In the 90s the band performed atseveral bigger latinamerican dance events and were often questionedwhy there werent any dance albums for latin dances with stricttempos for dancers. So the band recorded the Latin And Ballroomalbum.
