I personally purchased this copy in London in 1979.

"A copy of this book was given to director Ridley Scott during the pre-production of the 1979 film Alien.
Ridley Scott then hired Giger to produce artwork and conceptual design for the film"

(The dedication from Salvador Dali to Giger written in the book is printed,
the original is kept in the H.R. Giger museum in Switzerland)
