Two amazing Slayer shows on one dvd. In digipak cover

Rock Am Ring was originally planned as a one-time festivalcelebrating the inauguration of a newer, shorter version of thetrack in 1985, but due to its commercial success (with 75,000audience members), it was decided to make the concert an annualevent. However, after a dip in attendance for the 1988 event, thefestival was put on hiatus for two years. In 1991, the festivalreturned with a new concept: as well as featuring well-knownartists, event organizers present lesser known up-and-coming bandsto the public. The 2005 festival took place between the 3rd and 5thof June and bands that played were for example R.E.M, HIM, GreenDay, Marilyn Manson, The Hives, Velvet Revolver, Slipknot, MotleyCrue, Within Temptation, Iron Maiden and Slayer. Maiden wereheadlining on the 4th of June and 70 000 people showed up. Prior tothe show Slayer had warmed up the crowd and Slayer were out for aEuropean Festival tour that summer of 2005. To fill up the dvd weget a concert from the bands performance at the Montreux JazzFestival in 2002. The two shows are recorded decades after the bandlaunched in 1981 and the band is still going strong with theiraggression undiminished. These concert finds the band in fullforce. Slayer fans, and fans of metal in general, will get all theybargained for and more in this relentless set of deeply sinisterimagery, pulse pounding beats, shredded guitars, and intensemusicianship. Concert staples like "Chemical Warfare" and hits andfavorites, some of them with controversial histories, like "RainingBlood," "Hell Awaits," "Seasons In The Abyss," "South Of Heaven"and "Angel Of Death" remind us of why Slayer is often credited withinfluencing everything from thrash to punk to death metal.
