Kit. The castle Falkenstein was built in the 13th century and was already accommodation for emperor Barbarossa during the crusade. This castle was authentically mentioned for the first time in the year 1307 as Valchenstayn. It was a strategic important castle and fell to Habsburg later and lost its importance in the following centuries. In the year 1905, the culture historic valuable, however partially dilapidated installation, was restored and counts among the oldest and best preserved castles today.
