In the Southern Utah desert, a teenage girl named Akasha happens upon a glowing rock fragment! And after she picks it up a strange and subtle metamorphosis begins to take place! Several days later when Akasha and her father visit the Egyptian exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, she reaches for the powerful Staff of Horus! And in spectacular fashion Akasha is transformed into the Living Pharaoh! Fortunately for the museum's curators, Peter and Mary Jane are touring the exhibit hall at the same time! And in very short order, the Sensational Spider-Man and the Living Pharaoh wage battle once again! Flashback cameos by Angel, Beast, Spider-Man, and Thor. (Notes: The Living Monolith previously appeared in the Revenge of the Living Monolith graphic novel (1985 Marvel). Spider-Man also fought the Living Monolith in Marvel Team-Up 69 & 70. This issue features a gatefold cover recapping the events of last issue.)
