Magalhaes datorer och tillbehör exporterades också till länder utanför Europa.
Namnet kommer från den antika Portugisiska sjöfararen och upptäcks resanden med samma namn.

Unique laptop bag from the Portuguese brand Magalhaes, the name comes from the Portuguese navigator Fernão de Magalhães. With start in year 2008 the Portuguese government with Prime Minister Jose Socrates started the Portuguese project to design and manufacture affordable laptop computers to schools, school children and adults as well and also for export to other countries.
This laptop storage bag is in like new condition with tags.

The Magalhães laptop is a laptop computer, assembled in Portugal, It is based on the second version of Intel's Classmate PC notebook.
The name comes from the Portuguese navigator Fernão de Magalhães.
The installation of this computer in Portugal, under the scope of the e-Escolinha program, results from a protocol announced on 31 July 2008 between the Government of the Portuguese Republic and Intel for the creation of a consortium with mostly Portuguese companies JP Sá Couto, Prológica and Intel.
The notebook is aimed at children between the ages of six and ten.
It was made available in two versions with different processors: in a first phase the Intel Celeron at 900 MHz and in a second phase the Intel Atom at 1.6 GHz.
The first one is older in the product line of the American manufacturer and the second more recent and more energy efficient.
