Hammarlund SP-600 J-17 diversity receiver - The famous “boat anchor” receiver appears to be 100% complete and in very good mechanical condition but it is electrically untested. I have checked over and cleaned the radio and when switched on, most valves appear to light up and audio hiss is present!

All knobs, screws, mounts, meters and dials and feet are present and in good condition, and all the regular valves have metal shields, but, I am NOT familiar with the 72 year old valve circuitry, and its potential hazards, so this radio is sold as not working.

First released on June 17, 1952, the SP-600-JX-17 is a standard frequency range, 540 khz-54 mhz ”Diversity” receiver, manufactured for Air Material Command. Easily identified by red metal knobs, this is the most common of the SP-600 series receivers.
