Witch was a Swedish metal band from Umeå who were heavilyinfluenced by 80s heavy metal acts such as Iron Maiden and OzzyOsbourne. Confusingly, there was another band called Witch activein Sweden at the same time, from Boden (also in Northern Sweden).Witch from Boden had members such as Mike Wead, Joachim Lindbäcketc., but never released anything, and later changed their name toWarchild, and then Warning. Witch (from Umeå) on the other handmanaged to get two tracks, Evil Night and White Death, onto acompilation album in 1983 called Helgdagsrock At Far on PangRecords. This band also released a bunch of demos before they splitup in 1985. Anyone into acts such as their friends in Gotham Cityneed to check this out. Straight forward 80’s Swedish steel withgreat riffs, vocals and catchy choruses.
