RockBoulevard was a hard rock/glam metal band from Nevada that wasformed in 1985. They started out as Rock Blvd but changed it toRock Boulevard. They practice several times a week and won the 1986Reno Battle Of The Bands competition but at the same time they wereoffered a promoter in Ohio. The band decided to leave Reno even ifit that meant they would lose the momentum that just had turned upin hope to get more exposure through a professional promoter. InOhio they managed to play clubs 4-6 times a week and even gainednotoriety for playing on the rooftop across the street from theareas top strip club. In 1987 the band signed to Fraternity Recordsand entered the studio to record their debut album. Two tracks, OneTime Lover and Y R U Lyin, were released as a single to gain moreexposure but unfortunately the album was never released and wouldremain unreleased for several years. The band continued to play inOhio for a couple of months before deciding that it was time tomove back to Reno. Back in Reno the band recorded a 3-track demowith their new line-up. The demo included a re-recorded version ofHow Many Times as well as You Left Me Cryin and Self-Sacrifice. In1989 the band opened for Helstar and Intruder as a trio withoutskipping a beat. The band was rehearsing six days a week atShowcase Rehearsal Studio in Reno, Nevada. On a Sunday evening, they caught the attention of well-known lead singer Marc Grover, who was on the lookout for a new band after fronting the recentlydisbanded and highly acclaimed hard rock band Rawkon. Marc wasimpressed with the band’s work ethic. He was looking for guys whoshared his same drive to land a major record contract. Marc’screativity and determination helped Rock Boulevard to elevate tothe next level. They wrote several new songs and grew in popularityas a live act. They entered the 1990 version of Battle Of The Bandin Reno and won and was awarded with six hours of studio time. Theguys were able to pull together an additional five thousand dollarsto record more songs to get a full length album out. The end resultwas a self titled album released on Tri Records in 1990 in alimited run of 250 copies on cd and 250 copies on cassette. Thealbum received many positive reviews and gained a lot of radioplay. And just a few weeks later the band entered the studio againto record the fight song Lets Go Wolfin for the University ofNevadas football team the Wolf Pack, a track that was released oncassette only.
