The historyof the Brazilian act Exorcismo dates back to 2004 when theyperformed under the name of Morgue. During their three years inexistence the band only released one demo. When it was time fortheir second demo, Ultima Batalha, in 2008 the band decided tochange name as they had undergone several line-up changes sincetheir first years. Most people thought the band were over but tenyears later a full length album, Exorcise And Steal, showed up,surprisingly. The band stays true to their country’s old roots andopts for a sound that drifts heavily towards an early Sepulturastyle of aggression with frothing vocal chops, and nifty, surgingchunkiness in the riffs and bass. There’s always been an abundanceof quality within the South American scene; the undergroundchannels filtered so many great bands through in the 80s, and thissurge continues. So if you love the South American style than youcan buy this and enjoy a 45 minute trip of gang chants, thrash allwithin the South American lo-fi framework.
