Oliver (Douglas) and Barbara (Turner) have a perfect marriage. They fell in love when he was a brilliant Harvard law student and she a star gymnast. They married, had two kids, as Oliver rose to make junior partner, moved into a beautiful suburban home that Barbara furnished with only the finest antiques. Just when things look picture perfect after 18 blissful years together Barbara announces she want a divorce... Because when I watch you eat... I just want to smash your face in!
Let battle commence as both parties lay claim to their beloved home, and neither is willing to give an inch. Step forward Oliver's chain smoking lawyer played by the film's director Danny DeVito to offer some savvy advice, but it's already to late as the estranged couple have become entangled in a mire of rapidly escalating spite and revenge.
